Pakistan team to visit Ganguly's restaurant, watch Mughal-e-Azam

Download  Mugal-E-Azam WallpapersThe Pakistan cricket team will visit Indian captain Sourav Ganguly's restaurant and watch a colour-version of the classic Indian film Mughal-e-Azam here Thursday.

The team, which arrived here Wednesday night to play a one-day international, marking the platinum jubilee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will also hold a practice session at the Eden Gardens.

The Saturday match, which will be played at the Eden Gardens and have the status of a one-day international, is the highlight of BCCI's 75th anniversary celebrations.

The Pakistan squad, led by Inzamam-ul-Haq, reached here from Delhi by a late night flight under tight security.

The Pakistani players are scheduled to visit Sourav's - The Food Pavilion on the famous Park Street before heading for the Eden Gardens for their first practice session.

Download  Mugal-E-Azam WallpapersThe BCCI has also arranged to show the yesteryear blockbuster film Mughal-e-Azam to Pakistan players and the 100-odd delegates accompanying them.

The colour-version of the black-and-white classic will be screened at a city hall specially for the team.

After reaching the hotel Wednesday night, Inzamam-ul-Haq said: "The Pakistani squad is happy to be here after five years. People of both countries share a lot of common feelings and warmth."

"We have won the last three games against India and I am confident of winning the fourth one as well," the captain said.

India and Pakistan last met in September's Champions Trophy in England.

Download  Mugal-E-Azam WallpapersBut Inzamam-ul-Haq pointed out that his team would have to adjust to local conditions quickly.

"We have to adjust to the dew on the pitch, which is a worry for any team," he said. "I hope the boys will enjoy the game."

Former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who is the chairman of the platinum jubilee match and the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, received the Pakistani squad.

"It is high time to return back the warm welcome that Pakistan gave us during our last visit to the country," Dalmiya told reporters, referring to India's March-April tour.
