Aamir, Kajol to give priority dates for Kunal Kohli's film?
By Manisha Deshpande
Kunal Kohli's Aamir-Kajol starrer will be timed to be Aamir's third film after Ketan Mehta's THE RISING and Rakyesh Mehra's RANG DE BASANTI. The buzz is that Kohli is planning to shoot the film in a start to finish schedule from March 2005, after the completion of RANG DE BASANTI, but Kohli is tight-lipped about the exact date. "Both Aamir and Kajol have agreed to give priority dates after which I'll commence shooting," he says.
The HUM TUM director is not unduly worried about Aamir's reputation of being a hard-to-please and demanding actor, whose creative influence in projects amounts to interference at times. . "I think every intelligent actor has his own perspective of how his role should shape up. Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan are also known to be extra cautious about their scripts, so why single out Aamir?" he asks.
As for the budget of the film and whether it will boast of the production values, characteristic of the Yash Raj banner, Kohli says that budget has never been an issue with him. "It will definitely have the trappings of a big film but I believe that a film's budget should go well with its script. Not many people are aware that MUJSHE DOSTI KAROGE was made at double the budget of HUM TUM. First of all it will be a Kunal Kohli film," he says.
Meanwhile, Kohli has signed Jatin-Lalit to compose the music of the film.
