Eros' major collaboration with White Feather Films

Eros International, the leading global player in the Indian entertainment sector has announced a major collaboration involving co-production, marketing and distribution of feature films with White Feather Films Ltd (WFF), a premier film production company owned by Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta, which excels in producing cutting edge cinema. The deal includes approximately 15 films to be jointly produced by Eros and WFF amounting to an outlay in excess of Rs. 250 crores.

These include the distribution of the forthcoming DUS KAHANIYAN where Eros and White Feather join hands for the first time to present one of the most sensational films with the biggest cast ever followed by PANKH by Sudipto Chattopadhyay and THE GREAT INDIAN BUTTERFLY, a Sarthak Das Gupta film. Eros will also co-produce Sanjay Gupta's ALIBAUG.

Commenting on the development, Sunil Lulla, President, Eros International, India said, "We are extremely glad to join hands with White Feather to focus on quality film content. One can expect the unusual and out of the box from Sanjay Gupta and he has lived up to expectations once again to present some remarkable cinema in his forthcoming films."

Announcing the tie-up, Managing Director of White Feather Films Ltd, Sanjay Gupta said, 'WFF has created a unique position for itself in the Indian entertainment industry. Our collaboration with Eros International is aimed at creating a synergy of creative talent and market leadership. The past year has seen a major leap in our film production activities and we have successfully produced and released SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA. Our other production under the Eros-WFF tie-up is ALIBAUG, directed by Sanjay Gupta and features Sanjay Dutt in the lead. The company is also very buoyant about its newly formed division White Feather Arthouse Films which will cater to niche audiences and which will showcase many new talents.

According to COO of the company, Hansal Mehta, "We have a pool of talented avante garde film-makers whose works will definitely find a place in world cinema in times to come. We are trying to cater to an audience that has seen brilliant independent cinema emerging from China, Iran, Latin America, Korea and many Eastern European countries. With Eros marketing and packaging expertise, we not only aim to attract traditional Indian audiences to these films but also expect these offerings to exist and succeed in the global independent cinema space."

White Feather Films Ltd has successfully carved a niche for itself in the past years with stylish, dark brooding films like KAANTE, MUSAFIR, PLAN and ZINDA. They have recently delivered a box-office success in the form of the gritty cop versus gangster drama SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA.
