This Friday will see two contrasting releases, Sudhir Mishra's Shiney-Soha starrer KHOYA KHOYA CHAND and Sanjay Gupta's multistarrer, DUS KAHANIYAAN. Of the two it is obvious that DUS KAHANIYAAN will be the front runner while KHOYA KHOYA CHAND may lag behind. One must add that the audio albums (which influences the opening) of both the ventures is doing/selling reasonably, but once again its the Sanjay Gupta venture that has its nose in front.

Theoretically, Madhuri Dixit's much awaited comeback venture, Yash Raj's AAJA NACHLE , had everything going for it But as we had indicated in our last report, the task of the Anil Mehta venture succeeding in a big way looked difficult. Distributed mostly by Yash Raj Films', AAJA NACHLE was off to a dull start in Bombay and the opening was weak almost everywhere. In the Overseas, AAJA NACHLE was very ordinary in the US grossing, $257,500, but quite decent in the UK, with $348,316 (with a good print average), during the first weekend.

The other release of last Friday, Myth productions' Atul Kulkarni-Rituparna Sengupta starrer, GAURI THE UNBORN, also had a dull start in Bombay and was poor to weak elsewhere. The movie is all set to be a losing proposition, despite its low costs.
