While J P Dutta may be the mentor of Abhishek Bachchan (having launched him in REFUGEE), his wife, Aishwarya has turned down Dutta's proposal to play the character of the legendary beauty, Maharani Gayatri Devi. We cannot question the decision of one of the most beautiful woman of our times, especially after the disastrous outcome of her last venture with Dutta, UMRAO JAAN (2006).

However, the director (who is from an army family), refuses to leave the battlefront. As per media reports, the Maharani Gayatri Devi project has not been aborted, but for now Dutta is concentrating on another venture. It will be the launch pad of his pretty daughter Nidhi, who assisted him in UMRAO JAAN, after doing a film course from UK.

While we wish Nidhi all the best, we just wonder, if Abhishek Bachchan (now a star), who worked for a token fee of Rs. 5-lakhs in Dutta's REFUGEE (2000) and LOC-KARGIL (2003), will agree to play her hero!
