Director Anees Bazmee is a relieved man. His WELCOME has covered quite some distance en route to its eventual release today and Bazmee can heave a sigh of relief.

"I have given more than 1.5 years of my life to WELCOME. It has been a long journey though I am supremely confident that my audience would make it a much bigger success than even NO ENTRY", comments Bazmee.

"Kuch achcha banane ke kiye itna waqt lag jaaye to bhi theek hai, after all our film has an interesting concept with such a wide range of actors. It was a challenging exercise but a fruitful one nonetheless. I am sure family audiences worldwide would give my film a warm welcome!"

Talking about the film's lead, Bazmee says, "Akshay is in a never seen before role or look in WELCOME. He has been accused of being similarly street-smart in so many of his films but in this film he is complete contrast. As you would have observed in the promos, not just has he been made to wear specs to get that sober look, even his body language and dialogue delivery has gone through a major shift to bring out the innocence and simplicity of his character."
