Jackie Shroff finally gets a chance to prove that he still has that spark that was seen by cinema lovers almost two decades ago when Subhash Ghai cast him in the lead in HERO. Of late, the talented Shroff has been given a raw deal with weak scripts. Bogged down with production ventures, I only hope the actor takes his career seriously. Today, there is no dearth of roles for actors willing to play their age. It takes only one good performance and willingness to submit to the director that can change the fortunes of an actor. Amitabh Bachchan is a case in point. If producers are willing to pour in the money with him in the line-up it’s only because he gives back more than their money’s worth. A lesson in cinema for all actors on how to adapt with age.
