2005 was a happening year for Big B as far as playing lead roles was concerned. He was seen as a central protagonist in BLACK, SARKAR, VIRUDDH and EK AJNABEE apart from numerous other films where he was not in a central role.
In comparison, 2006 was relatively low key as the only film where he was the central character was BAABUL. Though the film has flopped, fans of Big B would have a reason to rejoice since they get to see the superstar as a key protagonist early this year in EKLAVYA - THE ROYAL GUARD.
A high voltage drama, EKLAVYA - THE ROYAL GUARD has been extensively shot in Rajasthan and boasts of a male-heavy starcast comprising of Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Saif Ali Khan, Jimmy Shergill and Boman Irani apart from Vidya Balan and Raima Sen. Tinu Verma is the man behind the action in the film which has a rustic appeal to it.
Earlier titled YAGNA, the film's principal shooting was completed months back in 2006. Later Vidhu Vinod Chopra moved all his energies into releasing LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI and EKLAVYA was shifted to a later day. Also, the post production of EKLAVYA was handled quite meticulously so that it could stand out in a league similar to world class cinema!
All this and more makes EKLAVYA a spectacular fare that should ensure that audience get to see a knockout performance from Big B early in the year!
