Priyan scores Hat Trick of successes in 2006

Priyadarshan has done it again!
With a superb success record behind him in Bollywood, 2005 was a mixed year for him as he had a success [GARAM MASALA] and a failure [KYUN KI] coming on the same day [Diwali]. In comparison, 2006 turned out to be quite evenly balanced.
He first came up with an unexpected hit in the form of MALAMAAL WEEKLY that released in March and turned into a bumper success. It not just registered a very good opening; it also saw sustained collections over the weeks and that too on the sheer power of number of character artistes [barring Riteish Deshmukh who was promoted as the lead actor] in the film.
He later had CHUP CHUP KE coming in June which went on to be an above average success though it could have been much better had it not clashed with PHIR HERA PHERI on the same day of release.
But all would be forgotten now as BHAGAM BHAG coming as late as December has brought in great moolah at the end of its first week. With the film already in a comfort zone, there are very good chances of film gaining a HIT status for itself if the collections keep growing as per industry trends.
What also works in the favor of this December 22 release is the fact that December 29 saw I SEE YOU coming which hardly was a competition for it. This Friday sees a sole release in the form of KUDIYON KA HAI ZAMAANA while it will only be on January 12th when it will actually face some heat with GURU, RISK and ANWAR giving more options to cine-lovers.
Till then BHAGAM BHAG can continue to enjoy a great period at the box office.
