So after all the hoopla surrounding Vinod Khanna’s comeback, the veteran actor is geared up to set the silver screen ablaze once again! Vinod Khanna-Randeep Hooda starrer RISK hits the marquee on 19th January. The entire cast and crew (excluding Tanushree Dutta) was present at the press conference of the film. The actors just couldn’t stop singing praises of the one and only Vinod Khanna. He was undoubtedly the cynosure of all eyes.
Vinod Khanna was completely bowled over by director Vishram Sawant’s script and vision. He plays a stylized don- Khalid in the film. He said it was a dream role for him and he doesn’t regret his decision of starting afresh with RISK. “I was wondering how I’d begin again. I felt God had heard me and answered my prayers when Vishram Sawant called me up. I hadn’t even heard his name but the minute I heard the script, I felt like my creative urge was fulfilled. I loved my role and immediately agreed to do the film.”
RISK is the story of a righteous cop played by Randeep Hooda and his tryst with the system. It also stars Tanushree Dutta, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Zakir Hussein and Anant jog.
“I felt like a newcomer on sets since I worked with people I’d never worked before. I was more than happy to meet all of them. They are brilliant actors and Vishram has done a great job in molding each character. I think the biggest challenge for an actor is to get completely lost in his/her character,” enthused the brilliant actor.
Khanna is anticipating many such creative roles in future. “I’ve never played something like this (Khalid) before. I hope to get more artistic and challenging roles after RISK. I would love to continue working as and when I come across such exciting roles,” he said.
Director Vishram Sawant (of D fame) expressed his gratitude to Vinod Khanna. “All the actors have been very cooperative. They all supported me and have acted really well. I want to specially thank Mr. Vinod Khanna since he agreed to do RISK soon after hearing the script. RISK is not the typical ‘chor-police’ play but highlights an important aspect of a cop’s life- ‘duty’. It is a hard hitting entertaining film and I hope the audience loves it,” said Vishram.
The film presented by T.A Shah is produced by K Sera Sera with music by Akbar Sami and Bappi Tutul.
