Key song of SEI omitted from final cut

Download Salaam-e-Ishq WallpapersWhile cinegoers are going gaga over the song placement in SALAAM-E-ISHQ with each of the tracks making a mark as a part of the narrative, what has come as a surprise is the omission of one of the key songs by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

The number in question is 'Mera Dil Ye Mera' that is sung by Shaan and newcomer Nihira. Promos of the song were on air within days of the album
hitting the stands and it also got some tremendous feedback from within and
outside the industry.

In fact when it was aired, it was considered as a very good follow up to the
title song 'Salaam-E-Ishq' which was already popular by then.
But now in the final 3 hours 30 minutes of the film, the song doesn't find a
place for itself even as all the other songs in the album find a place in the
narrative.

Agreed that the film's length may have been one of the key decisive factors
for the song to be chopped off in the final cut but looking at the response of
cinegoers towards the songs, it may not be a bad idea to reinstate 'Mera Dil'
at least in the film's original DVDs.
