"DH would recover it's investment in 3 days" - Director Anand
Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Trade News Network
Debutant director Anand Kumar is a happy man. His film DELHII HEIGHTS releases this Friday and in spite of a good budget of as much as Rs. 8 crores, he is confident that his distributors would get back their investment in a matter of first weekend and then start earning profits from the fourth day.
'Yes, I am quite positive about the success of DELHII HEIGHTS since it is a feel good film that grows on you. Also the word of mouth is bound to be positive for the film since it comes with such sweet moments that could be from anyone's life', he explains.
But isn't that quite a lot of money spent on the film? 'It is money well spent', he says, 'since not just the film is an ensemble star cast, it also has some top notch technicians working with the film. Are you aware that India's number one editor Sreekar Prasad, who has been Chief Editor with Mani Ratnam for years, has edited DELHII HEIGHTS? The producers have made sure that they invest in making DELHII HEIGHTS a high quality product and I am happy that the result shows in each and every frame.'
One hears that the film has been shot in multiple locations too that has added on to the budget. 'That's right. The film has been extensively shot in Delhi, Mumbai and Goa and it was not a joke to make an entire crew travel to multiple locations, make them stay there for weeks and then resume shooting in other locations.'
Weren't the producers complaining? 'No, not at all', he says quickly, 'I am happy that producers didn't raise a finger even once when it came to spending money. In fact they have been supportive throughout since with DELHII HEIGHTS, Sivaji Productions marks a comeback to Hindi films and hence are going all out to ensure that the banner gets noticed.'
