SUDHIR MISHRA

Shooting a period film has a way of transporting one to the past. On the sets of Sudhir Mishra’s KHOYA KHOYA CHAAND, a film based on the film industry of the 1950’s and 60’s, it wasn’t uncommon to see posters of ‘Aawara’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. 55’ and ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’ lining the walls or a fleet of vintage cars parked outside the studio or even a Johnny Walker look-alike walking by with a bottle of whiskey.

But what really shipped one back to those times were the ‘antakshari’ sessions on the set with the cast on one side and the crew on the other, singing only songs from the 1950’s and 60’s...These sessions became such a hit that after a while they became a post-pack up regular with everyone joining in. And as the echoes of popular Mukesh and Kishore Kumar songs rang in the air, the old studios seemed to smile in memory of the years gone by.
