British actor Naveen Andrews in GOAL

With GOAL being set in UK, it is quite expected to have an actor from the country play one of the important characters in this Vivek Agnohotri film. The actor who has been awarded this responsibility is Naveen Andrews who plays the character of Hanif in the film.

A British citizen of Indian origin, Naveen's full name is Naveen William Sidney Andrews. He was first noticed by Indian audience in KAMA SUTRA (1996) though he has films like THE ENGLISH PATIENT (1996), BOMBAY BOYS (1998) and MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (1998) to his credit too.

He has also appeared in two Aishwarya Rai starrers - BRIDE & PREJUDICE (2004) and more recently PROVOKED: A TRUE STORY (2006). He is now renowned globally for his act in TV series LOST for which he has bagged numerous awards already in the role of Sayid Jarrah.
