DOSARAt the recently concluded, star-studded, Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council's Film Festival in New York, Rituparno Ghosh-directed DOSAR won the Best Director and Best Actress (Konkona Sen Sharma) awards, making for a double whammy for the team involved! Planman Motion Pictures, which has produced this multiple-award winning film, is understandably excited. Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, CEO - Planman Motion Pictures said, "It's amazing that DOSAR is getting recognition from the world over. Competing with some of the best films from this part of the world, winning two of the most prestigious awards, is a fete. We are all extremely proud of DOSAR!"

Upon its release in India, DOSAR was lauded by the critics and loved by the audience - a combination rarely achieved by a film. The Black & White canvas that it was shot on made the already gripping story of a couple battling with infidelity, even more interesting. The director said that this was done to lend more character to the narrative and was not merely a gimmick. It worked wonderfully for the film. Many claim that DOSAR is Konkona's finest performance till date and one of Rituparno Ghosh's best films ever. At the prestigious BFJA Awards earlier this year, DOSAR won the "2nd Best Film" Award.

DOSAR has been on a tour around the world ever since it's release. It was shown at the very illustrious Cannes Film Festival in May this year - an honour indeed for Indian films in general, to be present on such a revered platform. The film has been screened across the globe - Hamburg, Calgary, IFFI (Goa), New York, San Francisco, IIFA (Yorkshire), Washington DC and Switzerland, amongst many others. In December, it will be the Opening Film at the celebrated River to River Film Festival in Italy.

The film is currently in its North American tour, being screened at several admired international film festivals, including the MIAAC where it won the awards. It seems like the film is refusing to stop its run in reaching out to film connoisseurs across the world! Well, nobody is complaining!
