When the music album of JAB WE MET hit the stands, apart from a massy chartbuster track 'Mauja Mauja', the three tracks which impressed most were 'Tum Se Hi', 'Aao Milo Chalen' and 'Aaoge Jab Tum'.
While these three soft melodious tracks were bound to be noticed once audience started warming up to the soundtrack, one couldn't miss the reactions of composer Pritam and director Imtiaz Ali. Reason? Both of them consider 'Tum Se Hi' to be their favorite as well.
Result is that after all the fun, 'masti' and 'mazaa' created by popcorn tracks like 'Mauja Mauja' and 'Ye Ishq', both entertainers in their own right, the song 'Tum Se Hi' has been thrown open to the audience too with it's recent satellite premier.
'Tum Se Hi' is one track where Irshad Kamil gets his poetry in motion even as Mohit Chauhan (of 'Silk Route' fame) gets a 'journey' feel on through his silken touch to the rendition. If you have loved Pritam's compositions in 'Life In A Metro', 'Tum Se Hi' is a song which is simply irresistible to let go!
The number may not be the kind that a music lover may sing around the town but if you are in mood to play a song on a long drive or just want to relax with the lights switched off and remembering the one you love most, 'Tum Se Hi' is a song waiting to make it's presence felt.
'Tum Se Hi' is easily one of the best composed, arranged, written and rendered song of the year and is a must hear for the lovers of soothing melodies. No wonder, both Pritam and Imtiaz say in unison, "This is our favorite track from the album. It comes at just the right time in the film and is bound to touch the heart when it plays in the background."
