The coming Friday will see an interesting clash between Yash Raj's LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG and T-Series' BHOOL BHULAIYAA. Given the fact that during the festive period, the audience prefers light, fun-filled movies, Priyadarshan's Akshay, Shiney, Amisha, Vidya and Rajpal starrer, BHOOL BHULAIYAA, is expected to take the initial rounds from Pradeep Sarkar's Jaya, Rani, Konkona, Kunal and Abhishek (extended special appearance) starrer, LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG. However, being a well made movie, the latter is banking on good word-of-mouth. While BHOOL BHULAIYAA is expected to release with around 600-650 prints, LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG is likely to release with 400-450 prints, following the CHAK DE! INDIA example.

The poor spell at the box-office continues, mainly due to bad films and partly due to the dull 'Ramzaan' period. The new releases of last Friday opened to such dismal houses that it could have given heart attacks to people!

The openings of Ram Gopal Varma's GO, Swadeshi Entertainment's desi take-off on THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, CHHODON NAA YAAR, Percept Picture Company's 50 LAKH and Animaa Films' IT'S BREAKING NEWS, varied from dull to terrible, where-ever they released. Needless to add that all the four above mentioned movies are all set to flop at the box-office.
