Yash Raj's DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, fondly referred to as DDLJ, released way back on 20th October 1995, to rave reviews and tremendous audience appreciation.

The Aditya Chopra debut project, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and late Amrish Puri, re-wrote box-office history and also re-defined the way movies were made. Its success ushered in an era of filmmaking which catered to the Indian diaspora across the globe and not just India. The movie was the stepping stone for the then beleaguered Yash Raj banner to the leading production house that it is today.

Coming to the other stats, the movie netted an impressive 58 crores (95 crores at today's rate). Not only that, DDLJ is still running in Bombay and will complete an amazing 12-years at Maratha Mandir, next week The movie has so far collected an amazing 11.73 crores from just Bombay city!
