Some may find it amusing, but it is true that Farah Khan opted for Deepika Padukone (in OM SHANTI OM) because she wanted to project her as a huge 70's superstar like Hema Malini.

Keeping that in mind, there is a take-off on the Dharmendra-Hema starrer, DREAM GIRL (1977), with Deepika playing Shanti Priya, an actress of the 70's in the upcoming OM SHANTI OM, and is humorously titled, DREAMY GIRL!

It has also been heard that Farah Khan believes that Deepika has the poise and grace of the South Indian actress and resembles her. It seems to be the right choice by Farah as Deepika is clearly drawing all the eyeballs in the promos being aired.
