In spite of making a debut with two other girls in a film which primarily revolved around the escapades of the two male leads [GARAM MASALA], she held on well over last 2.5 years. Over the period of time, she changed tracks to get into a de-glam mode with TRAFFIC SIGNAL and chose to work in an offbeat film even as her will wishers expected her to carry on the glam girl act of GARAM MASALA.
With a Madhur Bhandarkar film in her repertoire, she watched her steps, as she was clever enough to opt for the role of a Jat cop in a film, which had the other three ladies -Sameera Reddy, Esha Deol and Tanisha Mukherjee -, in out and out glam ‘avtar’.
For Neetu though, it was the role, which mattered most, and the distinct look, dialect and mannerisms that she had to adopt for ONE TWO THREE turned out to be her trump card. Result? She was noticed most for her foul mouth act in the film, which has managed to perform decently at the box office. Her performance has been noticed by one and all and though a few detractors have termed it as loud, it should only be considered as a compliment for Neetu since this means that she has succeeded in her endeavor to make the character look real.
Neetu has shown a different facet of her acting skills in ONE TWO THREE and majority of her scenes, especially with Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal, have managed to strike a chord with the gentry. Managing to hold on to her own in spite of sharing space with some of the senior most people in the film industry, Neetu has given a good account of herself and made sure that she does make a worthy impression.
With an ever-confident streak behind her and now a hat trick of successful films, Neetu is certainly there to stay!
