Gloria Jean's Coffees, world's second largest coffee chain is finally here to woo Mumbai! The first Gloria Jean's Coffees house opened in Mumbai today with Bollywood actor and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta gracing the occasion. A coffee cupping session and latte art was held at the coffee house with Australian coffee expert Brendan Guest. Located in the heart of Mumbai in Bandra West at Turner Road, Gloria Jean's Coffees is brought to India by the integrated hospitality major Citymax Group which is part of the retail giant Landmark Group of Dubai.
Says Ravi Saxena, Managing Director, Citymax Group at the opening of the first coffee house, "Comfort and a classy experience is a promise at Gloria Jean's Coffees house. Coffee is no longer just a drink here. It's a lifestyle. People take coffee breaks, meet for coffee, do business over coffee, have coffee on the go and even have coffee dates! We will serve exceptional quality coffees in a warm and vibrant atmosphere where people can take time out to recharge. We plan to open 500 outlets within the next 8 years across India."
The launch event saw some interesting coffee experience for the participants. Gloria Jean's Coffees's international coffee consultant, Brendan Guest took an enthusiastic group through a coffee cupping session. Brendan delivered a 1-minute coffee session with as many as three types of coffees, from Straight Coffees in Columbian, Sumatra and Bena Bena Organic.
Following the cupping session, Lara Dutta herself received a crash course in brewing her own perfect cuppa coffee, from grinding beans to creating some latte art. Lara was beaming by the time she came out from behind the GJC counter with four air cups of coffee for the group. The cheers of the four cups that followed were exhilarating.
