JIMMY is turning out to be a strange case of a film when the entire promotional campaign is being centered on only one man - Mimoh Chakraborty!
Nothing wrong with that since this Raj N C Sippy marks the much awaited debut of Mimoh whose dancing skills, as demonstrated in the couple of songs on air ('Why Not Jimmy', 'Marhaba') have indeed made people sit up and take notice. However, what surprises is the step-motherly treatment being given to other people in the cast and crew, most notably being the film's leading lady.
Not just is the female lead, in this case Pooja Singh (who by the way would be know as Viviana in her subsequent films), completely missing from the film's publicity, she is barely seen in the songs too which are currently on air. Surprising, since the girl is pretty much an eye candy, as seen in the Thumbs Up commercial where she is paired opposite Akshay Kumar.
Worse, the treatment is meted out even to the female singers who haven't been credited in JIMMY. There are as many as three songs from JIMMY which have a female voice but none of them have the singers credited on the album cover. The songs are 'Why Not Jimmy', 'Do Minute' and 'Aaya Hoon'. While the male singers in each of these songs do find a mention in the credits, the females are conspicuous by their absence.
