Post WELCOME, has Anees Bazmee already signed a dozen odd projects?
If one looks at announcement-a-week trend ever since Bazmee's WELCOME showed signs of fetching a blockbuster status for itself ever since it saw a 21st December release, it pretty much seems so. The biggest of film makers and corporate houses have been painting the town red stating Bazmee to be on their board.
Is Bazmee seriously up for this challenge of working on so many projects simultaneously? Is it really a good move considering audience now has immense expectations from the writer-director who now has two back to back successes after NO ENTRY and WELCOME?
"I don't know why it happens to me", rues Bazmee while shrugging away all the speculations, "It isn't that I am in a signing spree. The same kind of rumors started floating around even when NO ENTRY had become a super hit. I was being named as a director for a dozen odd films left, right and center. Even then I had hardly signed on the dotted line."
"It is just that over the decades since I have been working in Bollywood, I have made numerous friends. Hence many of them feel comfortable that I would be a game for working on their projects. This is why they go ahead with the announcements even though I may just have had a verbal chat with them. But no, the truth is that I have currently confirmed only two projects", details Bazmee who continues to be his humble self in spite of being in the know-how of the audience plus.
And which are these projects?
"I have a commitment for a project each for Studio-18 and T-Series. Once the time is right, we would be announcing the title and cast details about these films. Apart from these two films I have an earlier commitment of working on a Sanjay Kapoor film which would star Harman Baweja, Genelia D' Souza and Nana Patekar. In fact a couple of songs have already been shot last year and I would be resuming the film's shoot the moment I am through with SINGH IS KINNG which is nearing the completion line", signs off Anees.
