Whenever there is a great legacy to follow, it always becomes that much more difficult for a star son to come out with flying colours. Many have tried and failed, some are still struggling and a few fortunate ones have succeeded in coming out of the larger than life image of their fathers. Who can know this better than Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna and Aby's baby, Abhishek Bachchan?
Well, it appears that with BACHNA AE HASEENO, Ranbir Kapoor too is facing the same dilemma that has plagued many a star sons before him, even though he has passed the litmus test with an award winning performance in SAAWARIYA. Director Siddharth Anand says that Ranbir was very conscious of not imitating his father's highly popular lover boy image and as a result he followed his own unique style in the upcoming BACHNA AE HASEENO. The only time Ranbir felt out of sorts was when he had to play the 'dafli' (a sort of light hand held drum) on screen for the traditionally Punjabi flavoured track ''Jogi Mahi''.
The reason was obvious. His father Rishi Kapoor is a legend where playing 'dafli' on screen is concerned having done it successfully in many films like SARGAM, HUM KISI SE KUM NAHI etc. In fact, one of Rishi Kappor's biggest claims to fame is the song ''Dafliwale Dafli Baja'' (SARGAM). Ranbir was quite apprehensive about how to do the song perfectly and even said jokingly that if he did not do it properly he would get a beating from his father!
Well, Ranbir, given the buzz about BACHNA AE HASEENO and the talent you possess, we are quite sure that you will come up trumps yet again!
