Last weekend it was Paresh Rawal who was seen in two films running on parallel screens - MUMBAI MERI JAAN and MAAN GAYE MUGHALL-E-AZAM. Hardly a surprise that his performance in both the films was acclaimed most in spite of plethora of tremendous actors around. Now in the coming fortnight, another veteran who should be hogging the limelight is Anupam Kher who would be seen in as many as three films. While this weekend sees the arrival of C KKOMPANY, the week to follow would feature him in A WEDNESDAY and TAHAAN.
Incidentally each of the three films belongs to an altogether diverse genre. Starting with C KKOMPANY, this Sachin Yardi directed flick is a comedy where Anupam Kher is expected to get into his characteristic crack-jack performance. As an old man who lives in a chawl and forms a parallel C KKOMPANY with two youngsters (Tusshar Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav), he should get the house on fire with his trademark antics.
However, his performance to be looked out for is in A WEDNESDAY where he plays a senior cop who is on a run after a man (Naseeruddin Shah) who has planted bombs all over the city of Mumbai. In a serious role that requires him to demonstrate some histrionics, Anupam Kher is seen as a lead protagonist in this film directed by newcomer Neeraj Pandey.
On the same day arrives TAHAAN where he may not have a central role to play but is still expected to make an impression as an old Kashmiri man. Directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Santosh Sivan, TAHAAN features Anupam Kher as an old prophetic man who has quite a few interesting stories and experiences to be shared with the rest of the world.
C KKOMPANY, A WEDNESDAY and TAHAAN - Anupam Kher is certainly going to keep his fans interested in weeks to come.
