In the current state that Bollywood is in, the industry is witnessing a new director arriving in the arena week after week. This week it's the turn of Sachin Yardi who would be making his transition from a writer to a director.
"But honestly, I have made full use of the opportunity that I got. I guess I can safely say that I haven't screwed up with C KKOMPANY. It is actually an interesting situation where practically 50 new directors are making films every year. Of course chances to mess up things also increase in such a scenario. However, I do feel confident for having made C KKOMPANY in exactly the way I wanted to make it. It has shaped up quite well", confidently declares Sachin Yardi.
First time directors have been accused of running a video library at home and making a frame by frame DVD copy in their first films. Is it true for C KKOMPANY as well?
"Watch the film and you would know it for yourself", smiles Sachin who has earlier written KYA KOOL HAI HUM and TRAFFIC SIGNAL, "C KKOMPANY is certainly not a DVD rip-off. In fact I worked on a solid six months of writing for the film even though there were temptations to bring a project on floor ASAP. However, since the film had to be as close to reality as possible, I invested a lot in fleshing out characters in detail. I am very happy with the way characters played by Tusshar Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav have shaped up."
Does he wish to elaborate?
"Well, each of the three men here is a simpleton. While Tusshar is someone who could be identified as the one next door, Rajpal plays a very middle-middle class man who could well be lost in a crowd. He belongs to the category of men who carry their Tiffin boxes to office every day. On the other hand Anupam Kher is a man straight out of SARAANSH, though in a comic way. With a similar body language and mannerisms to boast, he gets the house on fire as he looks for his share of justice", describes Sachin.
