Director Ajay Chandok and delays go hand in hand. His debut film NEHLLE PE DELHHA (Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu) took years to reach the finishing line en route to its release last year. His other two films, TEAM and KISSE PYAAR KAROON, are ready but rotting in the cans. Meanwhile his latest film, KHALLBALLI FUN UNLIMITED is ready for more than 6 months now and though it was all set to release in November (and then December), it would now be hitting the screens on 9th January.
Story of his life?
"Well, failure of NEHLLE PE DEHLLA made me stronger. I was the first person to admit on its release that its look had got all stale. I wasn't expecting much from it. Moreover, there was no publicity, no promotion for the film. I had given up and took it all in my stride while moving on to my next project. No way was I going to keep grieving upon the incident", says Ajay Chandok in a calm tone.
"The 'mantra' was to fight back and I started choosing projects more carefully. There were quite a few offers but I didn't want to get into rut of doing those films about which the release strategy is not sure. This is where OMT (One More Thought Entertainment) came into picture. I began KHALLBALLI with them and I am glad they are promoting it so well. They are very good producers and are doing everything for the betterment of the project", says Chandok who has also begun work on his next biggie CHATUR SINGH TWO STAR. The film stars Sanjay Dutt and Amisha Patel in the lead and has music by SajidWajid.
