WILSON LOUIS

Director of HO SAKTA HAI, Wilson Louis, is plain amused with the double standards of Censor Board when it comes to rating films. Though he understands the reasons that led to the Board giving 'A' certificate to LONAVALA KHANDALA GHAT, his next 'out and out horror film' (as he loves to call it), he doesn't mind questioning the rule book, whether written or unwritten, that the Board follows.

'They say that the film is violent and has quite a few horrific scenes. Agreed, that's the way horror genre operates so I am ready for all the comments. However, someone has to explain this to me that why are the same guidelines not applied to English films that are released in our country? Why do so many scenes go scot–free in number of such films? I am surprised by such double standards', he rues.

Wilson, who is looking at making his production house as a 'factory' when it comes to horror films and is aiming for 3–4 films belonging to this genre releasing every year also adds, 'I have instances of number of such English films where cuts haven't been suggested or the 'A' certificate hasn't come with such restrictions. However, when it came to LONAVALA KHANDALA GHAT, they were pretty vocal about some of the elements which they felt propagated gore.'

He can't help but quip though, 'I guess the film has really worked with the select bunch of people who have seen it so far. In HO SAKTA HAI they were complaining that there was too much of drama and too less of horror. Now when horror element is there full–on, they are acknowledging that the film was too scary for comfort. Great, I see this as a positive feedback. The intent of scaring people seems to have worked well and I just want the film to be seen by a lot of people, even with the 'A' certificate intact!'
