A lot seems to be happening in the lives of the girls who made their debut in the role of an air hostess with GARAM MASALA way back in 2005. While Neetu Chandra is all geared up to be seen as a jat-cop in ONE TWO THREE, Nargis would be enacting the role of a Devdasi in an upcoming film of hers.
Titled PRANAALI - THE TRADITION, the film narrates the story of a girl born in a small village on the border of Karnataka & Maharashtra. Nargis plays this character whose childhood is yet untouched and full of pure innocence but falls prey to one of the unconventional and downtrodden systems of our society; a stigma of being a "Devdasi".
Scheduled for an April release, PRANAALI - THE TRADITION is a hard-hitting film that showcases Nargis in a different dimension altogether. The film also aims at unveiling forbidden truths of known and so-called respectable people in the society. The film is directed by Hirdesh Kamble, who has been an erstwhile assistant to John Mathew Mathan, Mahesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt.
