Die hard Friday movie goers were in for a shock when they went to watch DE TAALI in theaters in the weekend gone by. Reason? The most popular song of the film, 'Maari Teetri', was conspicuous by its absence from the final print of the film. Now this was surprising considering the fact that the song was not just lavishly shot but also promoted 24X7 that had resulted in quite a few eyeballs catching this item number.
However, the makers of the film perhaps were not too convinced about the placement of the song in the film and in order to cut down on the film's length, they didn't include it as a part of the final print. No wonder, audience as well as critics were mighty disappointed upon finding out this Vishal-Shekhar composed track being omitted from the film.
There was good news though for all those viewers who caught the film on Saturday/Sunday. The number has now been included in the first half of the film and though it is quite clear cut that this Hasan Raj sung number has been forced into the narrative, one doesn't really mind that due to its lively picturisation, foot tapping tune and some 'masala' entertainment that it provides.
Now one just hopes that the inclusion of this number only helps the film sustain well over the weekend and walk past the safety mark before the release of biggies over the next few days.
