While the names of late Kishore Da and Mohammad Rafi are written in golden letters in the history of Indian playback singing, there is another name that had and has a cult following, especially for those who like their songs with a tinge of sadness. Yes, we are talking about the voice of the original showman (the late Raj Kapoor), the singing legend, late Mukesh.
As is by now well known, the IIFA Fresh Face winner (JOHNNY GADDAR), Neil Nitin Mukesh is the grandson of the great singer Mukesh. The Mukesh legacy was carried on by Neil's father, Nitin Mukesh by way of some evergreen songs like 'Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi' from Manoj Kumar's KRANTI and the title track of Yash Chopra's NOORIE. Therefore the obvious question that comes to mind is whether Neil has inherited the family talent?
Well, the answer is an emphatic "Yes"! Not many will know this but Neil has sung with his father on many stage shows, and as per the actor himself, there is a project in the pipeline, where he may showcase his singing skills.
Well, we must say that we are quite excited with the prospects of hearing the third generation Mukesh!
