Come May and box office would see a clash of two debutant directors. Each of them has a good production backing and boasts of a star as a leading man. And both the directors are called Kunal! While Kunal Deshmukh directs Emraan Hashmi starrer JANNAT, Kunal Shivdasani is the man at the helm of affairs for HIJACK.

As per the current release plans, both HIJACK and JANNAT are set to arrive together on 2nd May. If at all this happens, it may well be history in the making when two directors with the first name come up with their debut films on the same day!

Young and new entrants to the world of Bollywood, they are not novices when it comes to showbiz. Kunal Deshmukh has been a part of the Bhatt camp for quite a few years and has assisted Mohit Suri in most of his films like AWARAPAN, WOH LAMHE and KALYUG. With JANNAT, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt have entrusted him to make his first film as an independent director.

On the other hand Kunal Shivdasani is a known name in advertisement business. He has done close to 300 commercials as a director for the best brands in the country and some of the biggest names in the business which include commercials like Mountain Dew, Lux, Maruti Suzuki, Wrigleys, Hero Honda, Pepsi, J.Hampstead, Mirinda, Gatorade, to name a few.

Though he is just 35 years old, he has spent close to 20 years in the film industry and of that, almost 10 years making ad films. All of this enabled him to excel in his craft and become one of the leading directors in the ad film circuits.

Their films are quite different in terms of genres though. While JANNAT is a drama and has match fixing in cricket as its background, HIJACK is set in DIE HARD mode and is an action thriller centered on an airplane being hijacked.

Esha Deol plays the leading lady in HIJACK. Incidentally she was roped in as the heroine opposite Emraan Hashmi in JANNAT but her entry into the Bhatt camp didn't quite happen and soon newcomer Sonal Chauhan entered the film's star cast.
