All those who thought that 'intense' Shiney Ahuja was made for films belonging to the world of HAZAARON KHWAHISHEN AISI, GANGSTER, WOH LAMHE, LIFE IN A METRO and KHOYA KHOYA CHAND then think again! This is because the thinking actor would be seen performing to some hardcore action sequences in his upcoming release HIJACK.

"Shiney will surprise many of his detractors with HIJACK", says Kunal Shivdasani who makes his debut as a director with HIJACK, "Somehow he has been tagged as an actor with a serious image but that's not the case. He has a range as an actor and there is a new streak to his acting capabilities that I have explored in HIJACK."

As the title suggests, HIJACK is about an airplane full of passengers which gets hijacked by a bunch of terrorists. One of the passengers is a young girl who is Shiney's daughter. How Shiney gets into the plane, foils the hijack and saves not just his daughter but also many others through his presence of mind and some dare devilry forms the crux of HIJACK.

"I have set the film in a 'Die Hard' mode where the plot doesn’t veer into unnecessary tangents. Hence, you won't be bored with unnecessary details around who are the family members of the terrorists, political intrigue etc. The film's narrative is plain and simple which understands that there is a problem to solve and the resolution has to be quick, fast and no-nonsense", informs Kunal who has done close to 300 commercials as a director for the best brands in the country.

"Though there is hardcore action involved, there is a strong undercurrent of emotions also running throughout which acts as the film's soul", Kunal explains, "In a situation like this, there is bound to see bonding between passengers or relationship between a father and a daughter. Still, high energy action with a high mystery element is what I would call as the USP of the film."

In the past, directors who have worked with Shiney have been heard complaining about the actor taking his own time to prepare for the shots. Did he experience something similar as well? States Kunal as a matter of fact, "Yes, Shiney does involve himself with a scene before he gets ready to face the camera. That's his style and one can't take away from that. However, if you ask me, this only works for the betterment of the film."

He further adds, "All the time taken in the background helps in saving time when the camera starts rolling since he gives a perfect shot. What you get as an end result is simply mind blowing. Give me such Shiney anytime!"
