The thinking man's actor, Rahul Bose has been receiving a lot for compliments for his handsome army get-up in Samar Khan's SHAURYA.
The general impression about Rahul Bose was that of a serious actor, who was only suited for meaningful and intelligent cinema. However, that perception was laid to rest with the success of Pritish Nandy's PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS (2006), opposite the oomph goddess, Mallika Sherawat. Rahul enacted a complicated role and also showed his comic touch with elan and finesse and was universally applauded by the critics and the audience alike.
At present Rahul is busy with his second film opposite Mallika Sherawat, MAAN GAYE MUGHAL-E-AZAM, which is being produced under the banner of Venus Records and Tapes and is being directed by Sanjay Chhel (KHOOBSURAT). The hilarious promos of the title song sequence, where he is seen crossing swords with the master of the genre (comedy) Paresh Rawal, shows the immense talent of the actor.
When we spoke to the director of the upcoming SHAURYA, Samar Khan about his lead actor he told us- 'Rahul Bose is a very versatile actor. It is just that he has not been offered the right kinds of roles.'
Well, we agree whole-heartedly with Samar and are quite sure that the well-made dark horse SHAURYA will consolidate the point further.
