DHUAAAN... From the fire within, a Film by Dr. Mrunalinni A. Dayal is selected in the Indian Premier Category for Goa International Film festival. It is the story of a young educated couple AKSHARA (introducing Lakshmi Gopalaswami) and SUHAS (Amitabhh Dayal), who are very much in love but unwittingly, get into a face off. A story of today's life and its joys & perils. A story that will raise many questions and give answers for many that are left unanswered.
Comments the director Dr. Mrunalinni A. Dayal, "I don't know how to express my reaction on this honour. We had sent our film for the entry but had left it to the jurors to decide. I knew that it is the right platform for the film like this that deals with an issue. We will get international attention as well as the focus from the crèmedecrème of film industry. I was hoping to get a screening but I did not know that we will be in the Indian Premier Category, which is very tough. There are only six films in this section. I am very lucky to be there. As a director it is a moment of pride for me." Dr. Mrunalinni A. Dayal's first film as director was the Marathi film MANTHAN EK AMRUT PAYALA. It was selected for the special screening in Goa in the year 2005. It was based on domestic violence and was the only Marathi film selected that year.
Adds Lakshmi Gopalaswami, leading actress of Tamil, Kannada and Malyalam movies, "I am very happy to hear that. It is my first Hindi film, totally the kind of cinema that I am interested in. It's very special because it is a woman director, who is very sensible. I have gone by the story which is so strong and the conviction that is the main strength of the film and that is why I accepted the film. It is very heartening to hear that it has made, I would have been disappointed if it had not. The USP of this film is the honesty in its making. Let's see how people react."
