It has been close to a year since Sonu Sood's mother left for the heavenly abode. However, he strongly feels that she is still present to guide him and his career from the skies.
'She waited for so many years to see her son make big in the Hindi film industry and now after 89 years of being here, results are there to be seen. I strongly feel that up there, she is making things happen for me', says Sonu in an emotional tale as he continues to collect accolades for his sensitive performance in EK VIVAAH AISA BHI.
'It was 4 months before the release of JODHAA AKBAR that I lost my mom. After that SINGH IS KINNG came. In fact on the 'chautha' of my mother's death, I got a call from Rajshris who offered me the solo lead role for EK VIAAH AISA BHI. This was a clear signal from my mother who always wanted to see me successful. It's just magical. I want to give all the credit for where I am today to my mother', adds Sonu.
Happy with the way his career is shaping, especially post EK VIVAAH AISA BHI, Sonu says, 'I am a qualified engineer in electronics but when I told my mother that I wanted to go to Mumbai to try my luck as an actor, she was really cool about it even though I was her only son. I had to keep her 'maan' and worked hard for so many years. With 2008 being simply fantastic, I can look up in the sky and sense that she is smiling all the way.'
