DRONA may not be the flavor of the season as far as reviews is concerned but the film's writer Joydeep Sarkar is truly convinced that he along with the makers of the film were sure about what they were getting into. Though there has been quite some flak around the amalgamation of different time zones and locations happening so seamlessly in DRONA, Joydeep has a defense in place.
''Fantasy mein koyi calendar nahi hota (there is no calendar in the world of fantasy)'', smiles Joydeep, ''There are no dates, no months. Of course, DRONA is not a period film but yes it talks about the world we have not seen. The world which has a timeless and spaceless quality to it.
Elaborating on the approach taken during creating DRONA, Joydeep says, ''It was always going to be the world of Amar Chitra Katha meeting Chadamama meeting contemporary story telling. I have grown up on these books and as also modern day graphic novels. As far as I am concerned, the film has exceeded expectations and I am sure audience too would nod in approval soon.''
