Barely had the excitement of 'Deewangee' [OM SHANTI ON] died down that Vishal and Shekhar came back with TASHAN this year. Okay, so there was a day off with BHOOTHNATH but it was compensated for by much superior BACHNA AE HASEENO which is still selling like hot cakes. With DOSTANA making a smash entry in the charts within a fortnight of its arrival and looking all set to be another success for the composer duo, Vishal and Shekhar can't help but grin from ear to ear.
'Professionally, 2008 has been a big year; DOSTANA has only made it bigger', exclaims Vishal Dadlani who along with Shekhar was also seen and heard in the recently concluded UNFORGETTABLE tour, 'We have been setting newer milestones for us every year and 2008 has turned out to be more than just satisfactory.'
GOLMAAL RETURNS recently hit the stands and it was surprising to see them missing from the credits even though their soundtrack from GOLMAAL still sells. Why?
'Rohit (Shetty) is a friend and we would have loved to be a part of his sequel to GOLMAAL. However, we had to let go quite a few projects since we were neck deep into creating the music of BACHNA AE HASEENO', replies Vishal.
And which were these projects?
'We were approached for SINGH IS KINNG and ROCK ON as well. In fact it was hurting for us too since with Farhan (Akhtar) we couldn't do HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. earlier while Vipul and us also couldn't collaborate in one of his initial projects. However, Siddharth Anand (director of BACHNA AE HASEENO) is too dear a friend and we had to eventually concentrate completely on his film. BACHNA AE HASEENO was as much as our film as his and in the process we had to say no to a number of other projects,' clarifies Vishal.
