The unthinkable has happened. HELLO, which was widely touted to be an alsoran material and came with zilch hopes has taken a reasonable opening at the box office to ensure that it would most likely manage to sail through. Now that's quite commendable considering everyone in the trade was unanimous in believing that HELLO won't be able to survive at all the box office, especially after outright negative reviews threatening to massacre it completely.
One wonders whether Salman Khan was the reason that the film got an opening. Now that could very well be the case considering his name was used in a big way to promote the film. Though he has a small part to play, the box office outcome has been positive and the post mortem rounds have already begun.
However, if Salman Khan as the sole factor could manage to pull a film just based on a couple of scenes and a song then director Samir Karnik has a reason to smile. And that's because his HEROES promises to feature Salman in much bigger duration. Though yet again Salman doesn't quite have a full length role in the film, he prominently appears in an episode that has him paired with Preity Zinta. Also, his first time Sikh act could well be the USP of his episode.
Add to this some special interest that Salman is taking in the project (Reason? Sohail Khan is the main lead in the film and has also got good appreciation for HELLO) and doing his best to promote it even as he is stationed overseas for LONDON DREAMS. He is painting the town red with his quotes around HEROES being a 'special film' which managed to get 'tears in his eyes' every time he watched it.
With Salman being positive about the movie and Sunny Deol and Mithun Chakravorty promising to bring their own loyal set of audience, get set to be a part of yet another surprising weekend when HEROES opens on 24th October.
