In her 3 year old career, Tanushree Dutta has mainly worked with male directors, whether it is Aditya Dutt (AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE), Vivek Agnihotri (CHOCOLATE), Priyadarshan (BHAGAM BHAG, DHOL), Vishram Sawant (RISK), Ashwini Chaudhary (GOOD BOY BAD BOY), Anurag Singh (RAQEEB) or Vikram Bhatt (SPEED). Now for the first time, she would be seen in a film (SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX) which has a female director Shona Urvashi at the helm of affairs.
Did she find any difference?
''That's true that I am working with a female director for the first time but it would be unfair to compare the technical prowess of a film maker based on gender. I didn't find anything different in the approach that Shona took v/s any other male director would have taken'', says Tanushree Dutta who is seeing a film of her releasing after a year.
There must have been a difference in the attitude though?
''It's quite a subtle difference actually'', reveals Tanushree, ''And that primarily centers on the way a filmmaker may react to a particular situation. Shona has her own way of perceiving things and interpreting a situation. Her being a female may have sub consciously played a role in that though.''
The film is releasing after a slight delay, isn't it?
''Not really'', defends Tanushree, ''We started shooting in Jan/Feb early this year and we are ready now. Warner Bros. know what they are doing and are bringing the film after some good thought. We all are confident about SAASH BAHU AUR SENSEX and are sure that it would work with the urban audience.
