Aamir Khan's tryst with Oscars continues!

Yes the Perfectionist Khan has proved it once again after LAGAAN in 2001. And this time his directorial debut TAARE ZAMEEN PAR (beating many critically acclaimed films like A WEDNESDAY, ROCK ON, MUMBAI MERI JAAN, JODHAA AKBAR, BLACK & WHITE, 2 Marathi films TINGYA & VAALU and one Telgu film GAMYAM in competition) has been selected as India's official entry for the Oscars in the best foreign film category at the 81st annual academy awards.

If one recollects than (during 79th annual academy awards) Aamir Khan starrer blockbuster hit RANG DE BASANTI had lost out in the nomination race.

Renowned Indian filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who is the chairman of the 10 member jury formed by Film Federation of India (FTI), announced TZP as the official entry to Oscars. As per the jury members TZP has universal appeal and it has all the elements of filmmaking. It impresses in every aspect. And that's why it stands in the final choice.

Seems like Aamir's directorial efforts has well paid off.
