'Inspiration' from JODI NO.1, AAA, JBDY fail to lift ESBD

ARSHAD WARSI and RAJPAL YADAV
Tarique Khan, director of this week's fiasco called EK SE BURE DO, may have thought that bringing in the success formula from films like JODI NO. 1, ANDAAZ APNA APNA and JAANE BHI DO YAARON may perk up his creation (?) EK SE BURE DO. His idea may have been to get two established actors with great comic streak into his film and lo, the magic potion was ready to be relished. However, that hasn't quite turned out to be the case in this five year old movie EK SE BURE DO which has opened to a horrific response in theaters.
The film tries to be an amalgamation of quite a few films and in the end the 'khichdi' that is served is so tasteless that you begin wondering who approved the script in the first place. The antics between Arshad Warsi and Rajpal Yadav are a direct lift from JODI NO. 1 but the script hardly allows them to make it a right follow up to the David Dhawan - Sanjay Dutt - Govinda laugh riot.
On the other hand Govind Namdeo double role act reminds one of ANDAAZ APNA APNA where Paresh Rawal was seen in a similar role - one being a businessman and another being a crook. In fact two other characters (Yashpal Sharma and Virendra Saxena) entering Govind Namdeo's house as doctors is also a comfortable lift from the same film where Salman Khan got into Paresh Rawal's house as a doctor.
If this wasn't enough, there is more to come which depicts total lack of imagination amongst the makers. There is this quintessential JAANE BHI DO YAARON climax, this time with 'Mughal E Azam' being underway on stage. Frankly, if Kundan Shah sees these five minutes of the film, he may just get a heart attack.
This is not all as the stand up comedian Ehsaan Qureshi (of Great Indian Laughter Challenge fame) seems to be the last minute inclusion into this drama. However, he too fails to contribute anything substantial to one of the poorest comedy outings this decade which goes by the name of EK SE BURE DO!
