Yet another weekend and film industry is already staring at two more disasters - DASHAVATAR and MERI PADOSAN. While former is a Hindi dubbed version of the Tamil original and stars Kamal Hassan in 10 different roles, the latter is a small time film starring Sarwar Ahuja and Sanjay Mishra which has released with zero promotion. Both the films have seen a haphazard release, courtesy the producers v/s multiplexes stand off due to which every other film that was kept in cold storage is being revived.

DASHAVATAR and MERI PADOSAN are two such films and their box office performance hasn't come as a surprise. With less than 5% opening collections seen on Friday, the two films have failed miserably at the box office and don't show any promise of any revival whatsoever. While DAHSVATAR has at least been reviewed by critics, it's a really embarrassing scenario for MERI PADOSAN which hasn't even watched by a handful of critics. Not that it would have made any difference since it is a terrible movie and an array of single star ratings wouldn't have helped its cause in any ways.

CHECK OUT: DASHAVATARAM Movie Review

Talking about DASHAVATAR, it was a good success when released down South but reception to the Hindi version has been pathetic to put it lightly. Also, the reviewers too haven't been kind to it with only a handful calling it a reasonable watch while the rest ripping it apart.

When it comes to the merits of the two films, DASHAVATAR is a gimmicky film where each and every character as well as scene is drafted in the script as an item by itself. If you don't take the film too seriously and are willing to see a 3 hour long chase sequence (which this film really is), you won't quite dislike it! However, when it comes to MERI PADOSAN, you only end up wondering if some film makers come with a wish list of making some real bad movies? Do they aspire to make something so terrible, so insipid and so listless that it would mean an instant end to their film making career forever? Or is it the case of some surplus money that they wish to do away with in the quickest possible time?
