A positive thing that has come out of the current recession is the way some of the stars have decided to rationalize their price, something that the trade experts have been harping on for a long time. Reportedly some of the top stars have offered a cut in their pay check rather than risk losing a project, and the same applies to their endorsement assignments too.
If the buzz in the ad world is to be believed, Chhote Nawab Saif Ali Khan has offered a pay cut to the General Motors, whose luxury car Chevrolet Aveo he endorses. Rumour has it that the company was thinking in terms of going in for a younger star, dropping Saif. However, very intelligently Saif went ahead and without any ego hassles offered the company a cut in his endorsement price and naturally the company gladly obliged. There are also talks that Saif has made a similar offer of price reduction to other brands that he endorses so that he could keep his brands to himself.
Saif Ali Khan does have a sound mind working behind that lean mean body, and here is hoping that other top stars would follow suit and help industry tide over the current recession
