Not many film makers would be willing to reveal the end of their movies, especially when they aren't happy endings. However, director duo of Arsala Qureishi and Sabrina Louis don't have any qualms in doing so. Their first ever film THE UNFORGETTABLE has a sad ending and they are willing to go on record about this. The reason behind this? They fail to understand why a film should always have a happy ending when life isn't always about being happy and fine.

''Let's get practical here, you can't always vouch for the best things to happen to you in life'', says Arsala who is in India to promote the film, ''So yes, you are not looking at a happy ending in THE UNFORGETTABLE. The film is a story with love as a strong undercurrent and if you ask me, I personally believe that true love is the one which is destroyed.''

Now that's quite a statement to be made. Why does she think so?

''Look at so many love stories around you. Once they end into marriage, after a while monotony sets in'', says Arsala, ''On the other hand unfulfilled love always has its own beautiful stories to be told. History has shown is that the biggest love stories are about people who go separated. Haven't we all grown up on stories about 'Laila-Majnu' and 'Romeo-Juliet'? They are still remembered because they could not end up being together.''

Sabrina adds on a lighter note, ''Who knows, if they were together they may have ended up fighting and not recognized as the legends as they are considered to be today. They may have got themselves into a boring marriage.''

Pitched as a film about two extreme characters (played by Raji James and Sofia Hayat), THE UNFORGETTABLE is touted as a film that defies rules and stereotypes. While the man completely believes in control of all desires, the woman feels that one should just surrender to the desires if need arises. In fact she is someone who is not just strong but also ruthless enough when it comes to meeting her own desires.

Screened at The Berlin Film Festival last year, THE UNFORGETTABLE would be releasing on 8th May in India.
