BIG's Tamil film YAAVARUM NALAM completes 50 days

BIG Pictures' maiden Tamil production, YAAVARUM NALAM, has completed 50 days at the Box Office with a total gross box office of Rs. 11 crores in the domestic market with expected lifetime gross of Rs. 12 crores. The bilingual film, whose Hindi version is titled '13B...Fear has a new address', is the first Indian film to release day and date in two languages (Hindi & Tamil) simultaneously this March 2009.

Directed by Vikram K Kumar YAAVARUM NALAM starring Mahadevan & Neetu Chandra was released across 82 screens in India on 6th March and continued to run in all the 82 screens till week 7 last week. In these times, when the first week collections usually amounts to 60-65% of the film's whole run, YAAVARUM NALAM has proved to be a surprise winner. The films second week collection beat the opening week by 30% reaching a new high.

Not forgetting to credit the exemplary work put in by the BIG Pictures Marketing & Distribution team at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu, which proves the catalytic role that local understanding of the market can play in success of regional films.
