Ram Gopal Varma is sure that RAKTA CHARITRA would be one of the most dramatic films ever that audience has seen on the big screen. Highly excited about all the dramatic elements that the story of Paritala Ravi carries with it, he is looking forward to beginning work on RAKTA CHARITRA which is being made as a two part film.
''When I say that the film is about this man called Paritala Ravi and his phenomenal rise to power with an ingredient of most intense blood curdling conflict, some people do question his existence. Well, those who follow politics would know for sure that he became a minister in N T Ramarao's Cabinet before being assassinated in January 2005'', says Ramu, ''Ok, so he may not be as huge as Dawood or Prabhakaran but the events in his life have been quite big in their own way. In fact no story has ever been put on such a huge scale as we would see in RAKTA CHARITRA.''
A prime accused in quite a few murder cases, Paritala Ravi wasn't a rebel in his initial days but the force of circumstances made him become one. He was a soft-spoken shy guy who retreated into the jungles and then became a rebel.
''On doing research on this character, I realized that there was such sheer drama happening in the life of Paritala Ravi'', continues Ramu, ''Here was this man who went into a jungle to become a naxalite, turned into a guerrilla, kick started his stint into politics and became a 'goonda' before being assassinated. Sheer incidents in his life encompass this whole political thing which makes his story so intriguing.''
To be produced by Madhu Mantena, the film starring Vivek Oberoi in the lead role of Paritala Ravi would be shot in one stretch beginning 1st August once Ramu is through with the shooting of RANN. RAKTA CHARITRA will release on two parts.
