After MP3 - MERA PEHLA PEHLA PYAAR, Ruslaan Mumtaz is now being seen on the big screen again in Satish Kaushik directed TEREE SANG. Since there is a two years gap between the two films, wasn't it frustrating to wait for so long?
"No, not at all", he smiles, "In fact I have been quite happy since in the interim period, I also worked on two more films - JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI and MASTANG MAMA. While in the former I am playing a star, in the latter I play an uncle of an 8 years old kid. I have been keeping quite busy and that's what that matter even if your film takes a while to release."
He believes that the main reason behind the no show of MP3 at the box office was lack of popular songs. "Because of that the film couldn't be promoted to the fullest and in spite of the fact that it was a very good film, it could never gain much visibility", he says.
He is positive about TEREE SANG though. "Sachin-Jigar has given such fabulous music that the songs are being heard and known all over. Even if we would have promoted TEREE SANG lesser than MP3, it wouldn't have been an issue since the film would have found its own visibility."
With TEREE SANG finally releasing, how does he plan to keep himself busy in months to come?
"Honestly, I am yet to sign something new", he confesses, "I am not going to pick up any work that comes my way; it should only be quality work. In any case the whole industry has been down for last few months and now with the entire revival process being on, I am sure better projects will start coming the way of every actor."
