Bollywood actor R Madhavan, whose upcoming film SIKANDAR is due to hit theatres on the 21st of August is kicked about his act in the film. The film which deals with the subject of terrorism has been directed by Piyush Jha and it takes a critical look at the subject of violence and its impact on the younger generation.
Madhavan, who plays the role of an upright army officer in the film, thus narrates the experience of shooting for SIKANDAR. He says, ''I play the role of an army officer and it was not a very difficult act since I have lots of friends in the army who helped me understand the role better. Shooting in the valley was a great experience and the enthusiasm displayed by the local population is commendable. Through this film we are trying to portray hope and SIKANDAR in that sense is a positive film unlike the ones that deal with the usual terrorist v/s army theme.''
Lauding the brave attempt by the director and producers who made this film a possibility, Madhavan had these words reserved for them, ''I feel making such films takes a lot of courage on the part of the director and the producers who know that the subject doesn’t sound like a typical masala film and yet by virtue of their conviction they are able to make a gripping tale like SIKANDAR.''
With the film all set to release in theatres this week, we hope this sensitive saga set in the conflict backdrop of Kashmir not only finds critical acclaim but commercial one too.
