SIKANDAR has released in theaters over the weekend gone by and it is seeing appreciation coming from some of the renowned film makers in Bollywood. One such film maker is Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was immensely touched by this effort from writer-director Piyush Jha and is letting his views known about the film.
"For me, watching SIKANDAR was a nostalgic trip and going back home and seeing that my home is burning still. I can only hope and pray that it stops, like the film does", says Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was born and brought up in Kashmir.
He was especially impressed by one of the dialogues in the film that was mouthed by Madhavan, who plays the role of Colonel Rao.
"There is a line in the movie by Maddy who says - 'Kashmir mein kisi insaan ke paao hi nahin padhne chahiye they'. I tend to agree, because human beings and politicians have ruined that absolute heaven on earth", he says with hurt in his voice.
He is appreciative about the effort put by Piyush in the film, "The heart of SIKANDAR is in the right place. It is critical when we say that the politicians of the world, India, Pakistan and Kashmir should wake up to really understand how much misery and hell they are creating in this heaven. That is what I take home from the film."
